Hotels again are transitional places, temporary homes. 'Signs of life' are captured through the distorted echoes of people in their rooms and climbing the stairs. One particular section shows a view into a rounded security mirror, reflections have been an important part of my research in particular the photographs of the mirrored window on the pier revealing murky images of people passing by. The roundness of the mirror distorts the view and this inspired me to film security mirrors in my 'Car Parks' film. The idea of catching a glimpse of someone in a distorted mirror links back to my research into peripheral vision and 'The Uncanny'.
