"I have studied the unconscious traces we leave behind that are unique to each person, dealing with the slight and almost unnoticeable. Instant signs of life such as distorted reflections and shadows offer clues about identity. These human traces create feelings of presence and absence, the slight changes of light or distant echoes that reveal that someone is near. Photography and film are used to capture these signs of life. I have concentrated on 'Non-Places', impersonal, transitional places such as stairwells, corridors and car parks that without human presence feel wrong and uncanny. At each location I have sought to find angles that distort the view and allow these traces of life to seep in. "
